POSITION SUMMARY:
Build SQL datasets, views, and Tableau Extracts from a Microsoft SQL server data base. Occasional Tableau dashboard design as needed. Maintain Tableau server-side as server admin, alongside IT team when needed for upgrades and hardware or software issues.
Essential Functions and Skills
 
  • Write and modify stored procedures and views in a SQL Server environment
  • Perform SQL programming to create result sets to support reports
  • Participate in and gather requirements from workgroup meetings
  • Occasional Dashboard development as needed
  • Create and Manage Groups, Workbooks and Projects, Database Views, Data Sources, and Data Connections 
  • Create, Modify, and Manage server task schedules
  • Administer users and troubleshoot Tableau server, Dashboard, and access issues
  • Implement and maintain user access, data security
  • Evaluate options for improvements, through product/feature evaluations, testing or proof of concept projects
  • Test report results to identify errors in the logic used to create the underlying data tables.
  • Regularly monitor Tableau environment and provide periodic reports on Tableau Server usage
  • Troubleshoot issues/errors within Tableau Desktop and connected datasets alongside Tableau Reports Developer
  • Periodic Tier 2 support for end users via internal ticketing system 
  • Work closely with technical architects, and data and software engineers to ensure optimal application and database/warehouse design to support reporting requirements
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to a non-technical audience

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Tableau server version 2020.1+: 3 years
  • Tableau - desktop / user maintenance / admin skills: 3 years
  • Experience in SQL language (Microsoft SSMS / PostgreSQL)
  • Basic familiarity with SSO integration with Tableau

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with installation, migration and upgrade of Tableau Servers and Desktops
  • Experience with AutoMate BPA or other similar software
  • Experience working with healthcare data

Working Conditions
  • Position can be remote only or office-based, at the pleasure of the employee
