Data Manager @ The Center for Black Health Equity

About the Role:

The Data Manager will develop a database for data collection, design reports, manages data files, troubleshoot data issues, and add value by using different data analysis techniques. This position will assist in the design of studies, surveys, as needed, in support of project reporting, operational reporting, and quantitative analyses. Assists in data collection and the implementation of data management plans. Conduct research, make recommendations, and plan solutions based on research goals. With the Director of Evaluation, the Data Manager will serve as a liaison to gather and collect qualitative and quantitative data from partners. The position will provide training and technical assistance to The Center staff, program partners, network participants and constituents. This position reports directly to the Evaluation Director.


Main tasks and duties will include:

· Takes a key role in the development, management and monitoring of data tracking systems.

· Develops reports and conducts data extraction.

· Assists in data collection and implementation of data management plans.

· Manage all data files and troubleshoots any data-related problems.

· Support others in the daily use of data systems and ensure adherence to company standards. Conducts trainings and provides technical assistance.

· Assist in the development and implementation of procedures for effective data management and data sharing.

· Assist in the design of studies, surveys, in support of project reporting, operational reporting, and quantitative analyses

· Assist with recognizing and upholding digital security systems.

· Assess system performance and make recommendations for software, hardware, and data storage improvements.

· Monitor and analyze information and data systems and evaluate their performance to discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades etc.).

· Ensure digital databases and archives are protected from security breaches and data losses

· Attends meetings and conducts other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Data Management, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field required.
  • Must have built a database or data collection system. Must demonstrate the ability to understand aggregated public health data.
  • Minimum 3 years of demonstrated data management or data analysis experience.
  • Demonstrating the ability to learn new software systems quickly and proficiently is a must.
  • Must be able to decipher and organize large amounts of data.
  • Must be comfortable collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and have analytical mindset with superb problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to translate complex problems clearly and in nontechnical terms.
  • Proficiency in MS WORD, MS EXCEL, MS ACCESS or other database, SQL, Tableau, Google productive Suite or another cloud base shared environment, SurveyMonkey, and MS PowerPoint
  • Public health experience is a plus.

Pay: $64,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year

This is a full-time, M-F position with multiple locations and remote work possible.
