Activity 5:

SUMMARY

The Epidemiology Analyst will assist in the planning, design, and implementation of health-related surveillance systems or epidemiologic studies, including outbreak investigation and analysis of epidemiology surveys for COVID-19.

Positions will be hired for the following teams under Activity #5:

·         Candidates from outside of Los Angeles region are welcome to apply but must be available to work Pacific Standard Time (PST) work hours.

·         Remote/on-site depending on work need and hiring manager’s discretion

·         Standard work hours (40hours/week)

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The duties of the Epidemiology Analyst include, but are not limited to:

·         Designs and conducts epidemiologic surveys, analyzes COVID-19 surveillance data, and assesses risk factors and trend data;

·         prepares epidemiological reports using health data from multiple sources;

·         Help standardize data collection workflows, variable definitions, create data report forms, and prepare reports on data;

·         Reviews epidemiological data collected in outbreak investigations and in case and contact interviews for internal inconsistencies, missing data, and follow-s up with relevant parties;

·         Prepares summaries of epidemiologic studies for COVID-19 presentations in community settings or at professional meetings;

·         Proficiency in SAS required, desirable experience in R, SQL, or Python as well.

·         Complies with DPH training regarding confidential information related to personal information; and

·         Accepts responsibility for other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

A Master’s degree from an accredited college with specialization in epidemiology, biostatistics, or its equivalent, proficiency in SAS, and Valid Class C California Driver’s License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.

·         Experience in designing, conducting, evaluating and interpreting epidemiological studies or investigations; and

·         Knowledge of communicable disease surveillance

·         A valid California driver’s license, proof of vehicle insurance, and reliable transportation or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions

·         Successful Clearance of LA County Live Scan Process
