Summer Institute 2021- Duke University
Summer Institute 2021
New Questions? New Research Skills. New Answers.
The virtual Summer Institute is now offering ten workshops, taught by expert Duke Faculty, that will support your research goals. You’ll strengthen your foundational knowledge in population health sciences and learn new research methods to help see questions from new perspectives. This year we’re offering two topical introductory courses in Population Health Sciences and Patient-Reported Outcomes (PROs) that touch on research methods. The remaining eight offer a variety of research methods in a more specific context.
Are you looking to:
- Get a big picture understanding of population health sciences?
- Understand the development process and apply qualitative methods in PRO measures?
- Develop, evaluate, and implement healthcare delivery interventions?
- Design core mixed method study designs?
- Explain approaches to qualitative inquiry and how to select the best design and method to answer new research questions?
- Apply concepts related to coding and identify themes in qualitative data?

Duke University population health researchers will teach these skills and more at this year’s Department of Population Health Sciences Summer Institute.
