Act. Build. (GEH LAB) Mission: We will promote and support safe and healthy environments on a local, regional, and global scale through conducting collaborative public health research, scientific engagement, and capacity-building activities. GEH LAB is a non-profit organization (501c3) organization based in New York City. We conduct collaborative public health research projects and build the capacity of local students, researchers and communities in Myanmar and Indonesia, and provide mentorship and professional development opportunities for students and young professionals around the world. The GEH LAB internship program pairs global health research and development initiatives with professional development opportunities for students and professionals from a range of sectors. We are currently seeking up to 4 individuals for numerous projects related to marketing, social media, outreach, fundraising and program development. Individual projects will be developed in collaboration with qualified candidates. Project Description Through a grant from an IT, creative and web solutions company GEH LAB engaged a consultant to conduct an evaluation of our website SEO and provide a set of recommendations. We are looking for an individual with basic web skills to help us implement this set of recommendations and take our website and online visibility to the next level. We are seeking an individual who is driven and creative and who will bring initiative, new ideas, and diverse expertise to our new and growing NGO team. This is a great project for someone looking to enter into this sector and there will be opportunities for creating longer term positions for the right candidate. 2 Deliverables 1. Implementation of all recommendations as outlined in the report provided by the SEO consultant including but not limited to updating, creating and/or optimizing: a. Title Tags b. Meta Descriptions c. Page URLs d. Page Titles/headers e. Alt tags and Image titles f. Navigation g. Keyword incorporation into existing content and making suggestions for new content h. Links i. Directory listings 2. Implementation of Google Analytics Tool 3. Training of Digital Media Coordinator and Director of Programs and Operations on best practices for using Google Analytics 4. Guidelines and training document for incorporating SEO best practices in any future website updates and development and an outline for training future interns in a similar role The project details are outlined in the analysis and recommendations provided by the IT SEO consultant. Option to extend internship after delivery of deliverables outlined above to work on additional web based project such as: 1. Creation of landing pages 2. Navigation optimization 3. Creation of new web content Qualifications: 1. Passion for the project and willingness to learn 2. Comfortable and proficient using online website technologies 3. Experience in SEO, online content development or related expertise a plus 4. Experience using the GoDaddy platform a plus 5. Experience working remotely and with a diverse team 6. Excellent communication skills 7. Attention to detail 8. Knowledge or experience in non-profit sector preferred 9.
