Minimum Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in a related field and three years of experience providing direct patient/client services in a health, human service or community-based organization, or institutional setting; OR an Associate's degree in a related field and five years of such experience; OR seven years of such experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one year of experience. The experience may include communicable disease, mental health, or alcohol/substance abuse counseling.
School health offices are considered an institutional setting and health care providers, such as private physician's offices are considered health care settings; AND/OR performing oversight activities in a health regulatory organization to determine compliance with appropriate laws, rules or regulations; AND/OR performing responsibilities as a registered nurse; AND/OR conducting epidemiological research including assisting data collection, conducting patient interviews, abstracting medical records, participating in study design, and developing questionnaires AND/OR data analysis. Research must have involved the study of incidence, spread, AND/OR control of communicable or chronic diseases. Laboratory bench research will not be considered qualifying experience.
One year of the qualifying experience must include program management and/or supervision of staff. Preferred Qualifications A Master's Degree in Nursing, Public Health or closely related field; thorough knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of public health administration; experience developing work plans; at least one year of experience working and monitoring quality assurance activities; experience building partnerships with local institutions. Responsibilities The Public Health Representative IV will be responsible for working with the Senior Project Coordinator on activities of case investigation and contact tracing for Westchester County.
The incumbent, under the direction of the Senior Project Coordinator, will coordinate and provide oversight for the daily activities of a unit that collectively performs all functions of the COVID-19 contact tracing efforts including coordinating the unit's schedules and providing daily troubleshooting; coordinate, track and provide oversight for monitoring program progress and goals; make recommendations for improvements and implement solutions; develop work plan documents and compile community resources. The incumbent will also educate, provide guidance, recommendations and feedback to staff making phone calls regarding cases who have tested positive for COVID-19 or to places of business where COVID-19 positive patients have frequented to ensure quality assurance. The incumbent will also work with the Senior Project Coordinator on school reopening activities, serve as a liaison with partners and stakeholders and perform other appropriate related duties as needed.
This is a temporary position expected to last nine (9) months. Conditions of Employment Grant funded position. This is a temporary position expected to last nine (9) months.
